Miami -based senior property manager John Castro brings passion and expertise to Link Logistics’ Link Parks portfolio. Read on to learn how he supports warehouse and distribution center operations at Miami International Commerce Center —and how his Colombian heritage and love of tennis enrich his life outside of industrial real estate.
How long have you worked at Link Logistics and what’s your role in property management?
John: I’ve been with Link Logistics for almost two years as a property manager and recently became a senior property manager for Link Parks’ Miami International Commerce Center (MICC).
What do you enjoy most about working in commercial real estate?
John: What I truly appreciate is the impact our work has on the economy and how we support such a diverse range of businesses—from small startups to large national companies. I find it incredibly rewarding to witness the entire journey of our customers, especially those who begin in one of our smaller commercial spaces and eventually expand into larger warehouse facilities. Being part of their growth and success is meaningful to me.
What makes Miami such a great place to live and work?
John: Miami is exciting because you can meet people from all over the world, including Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and South America—and Colombia, where I’m from. The mix of cultures is incredible, and the variety of food is fantastic. I lived in New York for about two years and enjoyed it, but there’s something special about the Sunshine State.
Tell us about your Colombian heritage. How does it influence your life today?
John: I was born in Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia. My father’s family is from a small town nearby and my mother is from the coast. My aunt used to take me to the country club in Bogotá to play tennis, which is where I fell in love with the sport. I’ve passed this hobby down to my son, who is an excellent tennis player. We try to visit Colombia as much as possible to relax, enjoy homemade chocolate and unwind.
Before we go, is there anything else you’d like to highlight?
John: I’m grateful to be part of a Link Parks team that values customer relationships and operational excellence in industrial property management. It’s rewarding to work with businesses across different industries and help them succeed in their logistics operations here in Miami.
